![]() ![]() Additional cooling fins are revealed along the back edge of the amp that help keep things cool. As I mentioned previously, the amp is mostly heatsink, but that fact is highlighted when the top cover is removed. Every panel and component is secured tightly so nothing will rattle. Disassembling the P300X2 was an excellent example of why I enjoy this. I can learn a lot about the product’s design during this process. There’s an input jack for the optional PLC2 and a second jack labeled PCL-OUT that allows your installer to daisy-chain the signal to another PLC2-ready Rockford Fosgate amp.Īside from the testing and listening, one of my favorite parts of reviewing amplifiers, radios and processors is taking them apart. Last but certainly not least, the PLC2 connections are handled by RJ45 jacks. The amp has two sets of RCA input terminals: one for signal input to the amp and a second set that serves as a pass-through to let you connect another amplifier without the need for Y-cables. The set screws are accessible from the top of the amp and are concealed once the installation is complete. All the terminals use #2 Phillips screws to secure the wires. The power and ground blocks will easily accept four-AWG cables. Another terminal block for remote, power and ground connections is on the right. Four speaker terminals on the left will easily accept up to eight-AWG wires. By the way, the back of this removable panel has a large piece of foam attached to it to ensure that it doesn’t rattle as you drive or enjoy your music.Įlectrical and signal connections are made along the front edge of the amp. All the controls are accessible by removing the top panel closest to the connection panel using the provided hex-head wrench. The heatsink has been powder coated black, and the two-piece aluminum top panels have a brushed hairline finish. ![]() This weight is a significant factor as the mass of the heatsink is fundamental to keeping the amp cool so that it will continue to play when pushed hard. The P300X2 is based on a surprisingly heavy cast aluminum heat sink that includes open fins on the left and right ends. A small LED beside the sensitivity control illuminates blue when the amp starts to distort. Set-Up feature that helps your installer optimize the amp’s input signal and output capabilities. The P300X2 is equipped with the C.L.E.A.N. Given that not everyone knows when to stop cranking the volume, this is a worthwhile upgrade, even if you won’t change the subwoofer level too often. This “bass knob” includes an LED clip indicator, so you’ll know when you’ve maxed out the amplifier’s power delivery capabilities. The amp is upgradable with the optional PLC2 remote level control. Punch EQ allows your installer to dial in as much as 14 dB of signal boost at 12.5 kHz and a simultaneous 18 dB of boost at 45 Hz to add some serious kick to your music. Of course, a Punch Series amplifier needs to include the Punch EQ circuit. The filter slope is specified as being -12 dB per octave. The onboard crossover can be bypassed or set to low- or high-pass modes and adjusted from 50 to 250 Hz. The amplifier can handle as much as 12 volts RMS of signal on the RCA connections. The P300X2 is a stereo car audio amplifier rated to produce 100 watts per channel when connected to a pair of 4-ohm speakers, 150 watts per channel when driving 2-ohm speakers and can be bridged to deliver 300 watts into a single 4-ohm load. Rockford Fosgate P300X2 Features and Specifications For this Test Drive Review, I have one of the Punch P300X2 two-channel, 300-watt amplifiers in the lab to check out. The Punch name has become synonymous with the brand and currently represents their mid-tier line of solutions. Through the ’80s and ’90s, the brand grew at an exponential rate, adding subwoofers, speakers and more amplifiers that deliver fantastic performance to car audio fanatics who want their music clear and loud. If you’ve been around the car audio industry for as long as I have, you know Rockford Fosgate started in 1973 with the introduction of its first car audio amplifier. ![]()

Every month, the Pathfinder Adventure Path brings you a new installment of a 6-part series of interconnected quests that together create a fully developed plot of sweeping scale and epic challenges. Skull & Shackles Maps 1 - The Wormwood Mutiny.pdf - 5.65 MB. Pathfinder Adventure Path is the premiere monthly resource for your fantasy roleplaying campaign. Who will survive when there's glory to plunder? But as these new swashbucklers make names for themselves, rival scalawags, enemy navies, legendary sea monsters, and the infamous Hurricane King himself seek to see them walk the plank. This flexibility allows GMs to use Plunder & Peril however they wish, from using the adventures within to boost the PCs’ experience before moving to the next adventure in the Adventure Path to using it as the beginning of their own sandbox adventures set in the Shackles. There's adventure to be had on the high seas when a group of press-ganged strangers seizes a ship and becomes embroiled in the plots and politics of the Shackles-an infamous island chain dominated by pirate warlords. The two sets of adventures complement each other well, but hopping back and forth between them is entirely optional. Of course, none of the material from the Skull & Shackles Adventure Path is necessary for Plunder & Peril. Thus, it’s easy to go directly from the end of “Black Coral Cove” to the beginning of Tempest Rising, even if you didn’t begin with The Wormwood Mutiny. This makes them respected-and possibly even feared-pirates of the Shackles, and gives them the reputation needed to be taken seriously by the Pirate Council. While the PCs’ exact Infamy score is not tracked during Plunder & Peril, if the PCs complete all three adventures, you can grant them an Infamy score of 20. To move from The Wormwood Mutiny to “Rum Punch,” the PCs could take the Man’s Promise (the ship gained at the end of The Wormwood Mutiny) to Lilywhite to refit the ship’s profile, rather than to Rickety’s Squibs, and encounter Varossa while waiting for the work to be done. This may be preferable for groups who dislike ship-to-ship combat, which is common in Raiders of the Fever Sea. In this case, Plunder & Peril essentially replaces Pathfinder Adventure Path #56: Raiders of the Fever Sea, giving the PCs an alternative way to earn the fame and fortune needed to win respect as Free Captains of the Shackles. If you want to do so, follow Pathfinder Adventure Path #55: The Wormwood Mutiny with “Rum Punch,” followed by “Dangerous Waters” and “Black Coral Cove,” then move to Pathfinder Adventure Path #57: Tempest Rising. It’s also possible to use the adventures in Pathfinder Module: Plunder & Peril as part of the Skull & Shackles Adventure Path. These adventures can be run back to back as a full-length adventure, but if your group doesn’t want to be immersed in the piratical themes of the Shackles for that long, any of these adventures can also be run as a standalone experience. Rather than present a single adventure, we offer three separate short adventures written by three different authors, all connected by common plot threads (and references to a common set of appendices). The organization of this book is also a bit of a departure for the Pathfinder Module line. The goal is to create a fun and fast-paced experience full of pirate flavor without going so far as to give good-aligned characters serious moral qualms. On the other hand, while the PCs have plenty of opportunities to act like pirates, at no point are they asked to raid towns, board merchant ships, or force anyone to walk the plank. ![]() It works best for characters who desire to become wealthy and famous masters of the high seas, and are willing to bend the rules to achieve those goals. Pathfinder Module: Plunder & Peril takes the PCs to the Shackles, and gives them an opportunity to enjoy a taste of the pirate life. ![]() ![]() ![]() The division series begin on Thursday, Oct. ![]() The NL playoffs begin with the NL wild-card game on Tuesday, Oct. On top of that, It allowed me to recycle an on-on DPDT switch I had lying around. ![]() The former is the "more switches looks cooler" approach, which I chose. If you have the latter, it is the cleaner option, since that type of switch acts both as the reversal mechanism, and the on-off switch. Others have three positions, on-off-on, where you can have either one one of the circuits closed, or both open. Some have two positions, where one circuit is closed (on) and the other is open (off) at all times, known as an "on-on". It is a switch that can control two different circuits from one power source. The reversal mechanism can be easily designed around a double pull double throw switch, known to friends as a DPDT switch. So, an on-off switch and a mechanism to reverse the polarity of the DC current. Now that we have DC, we need to be able to get the power to the motor, to be able to turn it on and off, and be able to reverse the motor in case of jams. You can check out this Wikipedia article for more detail and some pictures. I guess this design is more popular with higher voltages. The one I got for this project is the square type. The square one has the AC come in opposite corners and the DC out of the other two corners, just like you would see in a circuit diagram. The rectangle type usually have the AC come in the center pins and the DC out of the outer pins, with the positive towards the beveled corner. It can be simply 4 diodes soldered on the circuit board, or it can be an integrated circuit taking the form of an upright rectangle with a beveled corner, or a square unit that lays flat on the board. There are 3 popular diode arrangements to make those bridges. Well, it is usually an arrangement of 4 diodes that will act like traffic cops, directing all the electrons going in one direction to one wire (the negative, normally black wire), do their loop on the circuit, and come back through another wire (the positive, normally red wire). Ok, so now I know that I need a bridge rectifier, but what is it exactly? Just remember that it's part of the AC wiring. I won't talk about it either in the following steps. If you dig a bit deeper, you can find a micro switch that cuts power to the unit if the bin is removed. Note : the actual voltage from the outlets in your home may vary. We now also know that we need a way to convert 120V AC to 120V DC.Įnter the magical world of rectifier bridges! The fact that this is a 120V motor can be considered a good thing, since no transformer will be needed in the new circuit. The other two are blue, and from what I can tell, they are probably from a sensor of sorts, since there was an overload LED on the cover. In this case it's a 120V DC motor. Note that there are 4 wires coming out of the motor, and two of those are obviously the DC power wires since they are black and red. When taking out the motor, check for a sticker with the specs. correct me if I'm wrong, but nonetheless. I have my doubts about reversible AC motors. I of course kept the board for any salvageable components in a future project.Īpparently, this shredder came in a version with an AC motor, and a version with a DC motor. In my case, I had no clue as to what was broken, so I just removed the circuit board and cut the wires as close to the board as possible, in order to give me some room to move later on. Soldering iron and solder - recommended, but it's possible to do without.ĭremel - again, recommended, but it's possible to use other cutting tools Insulator for some connections - heat shrink, electrical tape, marettes.Ĭrazy long philips screwdriver - I used an 8 inch #2, but it was tight, so maybe a #1 would work better On-off switch - optional if your DPDT switch has an off position let's say that I hadn't quite grasped the mindset of photographing for instructables yet. ![]() The downside is that this project was done way back in February 2010, and the first steps were not documented with photos. This is my first published instructable, yay! The simple fix is to make a basic circuit that will run the motor forwards and backwards. I always wanted to get a shredder to dispose of sensitive documents, so when I stumbled on an ad for a broken shredder to give away, I jumped on the occasion!īasically, the electronics inside were shot, but the motor was in perfect working order. Here is one way to inexpensively bring a shredder into your home office! ![]() |
